Barron’s annual Top 1,200 ranking recognizes outstanding advisors from all 50 states, plus the District of Columbia. Once again, our very own Jim Kruzan, CFP®, CRPC®, has been recognized by Barron’s as one of American’s Top 1,200 Financial Advisors for 2020. Kruzan says, “believe me, it’s been a team effort!”
This is Barron’s largest, most comprehensive listing, and it encompasses everyone from independents, who own and operate their own practices, to employees of the big Wall Street firms. Check out all of the rankings here.
Rankings are based on each financial advisor’s assets under management (AUM), revenue generated by advisors for their firms, and the quality of their practices. Investment performance isn’t an explicit criterion, because it is often a function of each client’s appetite for risk. Barron’s says, “In our evaluations, we examine regulatory records, internal company documents, and 100-plus data points provided by the advisors themselves.” Click here for more on Barron’s methodology and the complete list of advisors recognized.

The rankings are based on data provided by over 4,000 individual advisors and their firms and include qualitative and quantitative criteria. Factors included in the rankings: assets under management, revenue produced for the firm, regulatory record, quality of practice and philanthropic work. Investment performance is not an explicit component because not all advisors have audited results and because performance figures often are influenced more by clients’ risk tolerance than by an advisor’s investment-picking abilities. The ranking may not be representative of any one client’s experience, is not an endorsement, and is not indicative of an advisor’s future performance.
